The Paradox of Life and Death – by Greg Albrecht

Friend and Partner Letter from April 2025:                                                   “… I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die, and whoever believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26). Jesus says those who believe in him will live, even though they die, but yet, those who believe in him will never ...

Reflections Along the Jesus Way

April 01, 2025 - Quote for the Day: “Far from being an obscure point of doctrine, the cross of Christ is ground zero of our faith.  All of the teachings of Jesus are best understood and illuminated by his cross.  The crucifixion of Jesus is a priority – a defining part of his identity, and for that matter, a foundational building block for all of us, as Christ-followers.  The cross of Christ is an essential part of his identity – it is the heart and soul of the gospel. The cross crushes the tyranny of attempting to please God on the basis of law while simultaneously and tenaciously insisting that the lavish grace of ...

Only God Is Holy

Christians are holy people. But how do we become and remain holy? Is it something we do? Find out in today's message.

Towel and Basin

In his message today, Greg takes a close look at a biblical account showing the extent of Jesus' humility. It's the time when Jesus washed his disciples feet. Jesus served his companions by washing their feet when no one else volunteered. In doing so he showed how deeply he loves us.

Reflections Along the Jesus Way

March 29, 2025 - Quote for the Day: “Just as the road to his resurrection ran through a cemetery, so too does ours… Living in Christ (and he in us) means our old spiritual man must die.” Originally published in: Letters to My Friends ------------------------------------- Help Us Help Others - Give Now

Reflections Along the Jesus Way

March 27, 2025 - Quote for the Day: “God does not need nor is he obligated by our religious performances.  Sadly, it’s virtually inevitable that the production of religious stuff makes people feel that God is obligated to them. Many religious people feel that God must reward their religious trophies, blue ribbons, diplomas, certificates and commendations.  And that attitude leads to pride, the antithesis of the attitude of Jesus, which is humility.  The humility of Jesus is the impoverishment of the human spirit.”  Originally published in: Beautiful Sayings – Beatitudes of Grace ——————...

New Life In Christ

Discover three ways in which new life in Christ is biblically explained: 1) in theological terms, 2) through biological and 3) in the metaphor of architecture and construction.

How Far Will God Go?

God doesn't encourage us to take advantage of his "good graces" - but out of his love he allows humans to do just that, if they so choose.

A Covenant – Not a Contract! – by Greg Albrecht

There is probably no other human endeavor quite like marriage—sadly, many of these partnerships that begin with such hope and expectation regularly fail. One of the reasons marriages fail is because many see marriage and the entire relationship through the eyes of a contract rather than through the perspective of a covenant. Marriage, an example of a human covenant, can help us to understand the divine relationship God offers to each of us. He offers us the new covenant in Christ, not the new contract in Christ. It's a covenant, NOT a contract! CONTINUE READING We hope that our articles and resources bring comfort, hope, encoura...

Reflections Along the Jesus Way

March 25, 2025 - Quote for the Day: “Picking up our cross and following Jesus is not for the faint hearted.  We must make a commitment and with Christ-centered courage and conviction, Christ in us imbues us with hope and faith for the journey, even when it takes us through dark valleys of death and despair.  Doubts and trials can lead us to deeper faith, greater spiritual maturity and more Christ-like convictions.  Doubt borne of adversity and hardship need not be our enemy, but rather a stepping stone, albeit painful and difficult, toward, as those great lyrics describe, a ‘closer walk with Thee.’”  O...

Trusting God – Rejecting Religion

We focus on two illusions that enslave billions of people: 1) Contrasted with grace-based trust in God, religious self sufficiency alienates us from God, and 2) Attempts to earn God's favor through our efforts lead to pride in religious accomplishments, in complete opposition to the humility imparted to us by the mind of Christ.

Spiritual Blessings

The emphasis on human love we hear during the season of Valentine's Day helps us to focus on God's love for us. He lavishly pours out "every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3) on us.

Q & R with Greg Albrecht – How does the gospel influence life and politics?

QUESTION: Let me start off by thanking you for your excellent resource which is a blessing and encouragement for those of us who have stepped away from institutional Christianity. So a big thank you for that. I've never found cause in any of Greg's writings before to want to write but wanted to comment on his blog post “Lost and Alone.”  My concerns are not with the theology but the social-political comments which I think highlight some areas for awakening and growth among US Christians. I'm an American ex-pat living in Europe where the Christians are surprised by the apparent lack of social conscience in America towards the homeless, poor, ...

Reflections Along the Jesus Way

March 22, 2025 - Quote for the Day: “In The Great Divorce C.S. Lewis characterizes those in heaven as saying that they think nothing of religion, that they think only of Christ.  Christians are called to come out of religiosity and churchianity that will forever keep them enslaved to the flesh.  We are called to set our hearts and minds on things above.  We are called to focus on Christ alone.  Think of him and nothing of religion.  Faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone.” Originally published in: Unplugging from Religion - Connecting With God ------------------------------------- Help Us ...
